BAZAR BIZAR invites you on a faraway journey to the dancing islands, ancient traditions and heavenly beaches of Indonesia. The Belgian interior brand that grew out of a lifelong passion for travelling, creates highly original design pieces made of eco-friendly materials such as water hyacinth, rattan and bamboo. The extensive collection includes woven rugs, lamps, cushions, ceramics, chairs and many other interior and fashion items in gentle colours such as beige, brown, white and also black. Carefully selected design pieces that consistently embody originality, quality, innovation and craftsmanship. Bazar Bizar brings that beautiful touch of Balinese culture one for one to the four corners of the earth.

The people behind Bazar Bizar are Pascale Pelsmaekers and Eddy Roothaert. While the owner Pascale takes care of the creative side of things and is also the public ‘face’ of the label, her husband Eddy handles the logistics.

As world travelers, the couple had seen many sights, but Indonesia felt like a ‘homecoming’. They fell in love with the country, the Balinese culture, the traditional craftsmanship and the people, not to mention the boho vibes. That’s how they came up with the idea of launching a web-shop for unique furniture and original decorative items, crafted by Balinese housewives. Every item is unique and has its own story to tell.

In the meantime, the couple has developed their own label and they are designing and creating their own collections of high-end and luxury decorative accents and homeware. Four-five times a year, they travel to Indonesia, where they already have a team of several Balinese employees.

All items are (hand)crafted in a sustainable way and moreover, it is a means for supporting the local Balinese economy. Since Pascale and Eddy take care of the entire production process themselves, they also maintain control over it: from production all the way to delivery. They pay particular attention to good working conditions, high quality finishing and guarantee fair wages for their workers.

This means that everything offered by “Bazar Bizar” is both ecological and fair trade, and in the future ... they intend to keep it that way.
